2023/05/20 - Artsplosure 2023 - A Wonderful Event for All

Artsplosure – The Raleigh Arts Festival returned May 20 - 21, 2023.  The two day event featured an Art Market of approximately 175 juried visual artists from across the United States showcasing works in ceramics, fiber art, glass, jewelry, metal, painting, photography, wood and more. 

WGNC was happy to supported this event again this year. Artsplosure provides exposure for WGNC member/artists to display and sell their artwork.  It also offers WGNC a way to connect with the public directly.  By hosting live demonstrations, WGNC can help educate the public about woodturning.  

The WGNC booth was very active both Saturday and Sunday and those members participating experienced a lot of interest in their turnings and as a result, sales were brisk both days.

Favorable weather and a better booth location this year contributed to a very successful event.

Exhibiting in his own booth, Michael Earley, revealed some of his newest basket illusion art work.  Not only did Michael have a lot of interest in his work, sales were also good. But, the highlight of his show was being awarded a first place by the Artsplosure event for his woodturned basket illusion art work.  Congratulations Michael!
